They're safe to wash in the dishwasher (top rack ONLY and avoid high heat settings like "sanitize," as excessive heat may scorch or discolor the mug) and safe to throw into the microwave when you want to quickly make a nice warm drink. The design is printed on the mug with a dye sublimation technique, which lasts as long as the life of the mug!
